TSDOAL2012OV – Lottery
Today was the best day so far: I had a two hour break where I explored the Olympic Park, I won a ticket to the Athletics featuring Usain Bolt, and Caroline the Dinner Lady gave me an extra orange!
I’ll start with the ticket.
It was like the national lottery except I didn’t even know I was playing and also I actually won, which never seems to happen in the national lottery. My mum won 8 quid once which until today was the household gold medal for random winnings, but this ticket just about trumps it. It is a seat filler no doubt, which means its a corporate seat and hopefully quite near the track rather than up in the rafters with the peasants. I have no idea why I have it, but I do, and everything is now worth the hard work (writing numbers on a clipboard every 15 minutes).
Today in the media centre was a relaxing day for some reason, with everything running extremely smoothly and no real influx of people. On exiting the media centre and going into the main area of the park, however, things were somewhat different as I struggled to walk more than one metre in a straight line without bumping into a person. Some people have been questioning where all the people have gone in London? They are all in the Olympic Park. Literally all of them.
It is pure insanity in there, with QUEUES TO SIT ON THE FLOOR. I strutted around in my uniform bypassing queues, realising I had no reason to want to sit on the floor, and promptly leaving. I also got a free piece of chocolate.
The undoubted highlight of the day was of course the extra orange. Thanks Caroline, it’s just a shame you’ll never read this because you are a dinner lady and not really the kind of friend I think will last beyond your ability to supply me with extra vitamins.
In other news, I broke my personal best for people getting on a bus I was attending, with a storming 21 people on one bus today. If loading media personnel onto buses was an olympic sport, I WOULD AT LEAST QUALIFY FOR THE HEATS.
